Dr. Kent Clayton has been counselling individuals, couples and families for over 30 years as a qualified Family Mediator , and Counsellor. During this time he has counselled children, adults, teens, families, and couples. He also assists children and parents in navigating divorce and separation respectfully. He has been a member of Family Mediation Canada since 1997 as well as a member of the Association of Christian Psychologists and the American Association of Christian Counsellors .
Dr Clayton is the founding partner of Clayton Associates Inc. Since 1996 we specialize in ability to pay , individual and family counselling. Dr Clayton has a D. Min. & PhD (Psych ). As well as specialized training in Addictions, Post Traumatic Stress, Cognitive Therapy, Trauma Counselling, Small Group Counselling, Anger Management, Conflict Resolution, Palliative Care, Family and Marriage, Divorce, Handicap, and Spiritual Counselling.
Jan Clayton: B.A. (Psych), M.A. ( Psych)
Jan is a highly respected Child and Family Therapist with over 25 years of experience. As an experienced Clinical Counsellor who specializes in therapy for children, adolescents, families, individuals and couples, she uses a variety of methods, and adapts a specific treatment plan for each individual or family, using cognitive, play and art therapy when working with children, as well as assisting them and their families in developing problem solving techniques. Jan also specializes in enhancing the attachment between parent and child.
A main focus for Jan is the issue of separation and divorce . Trained as a Parent Educator, Parent coordinator and Co-parent counsellor, she creates a safe place for children to grieve any feelings of loss, build self-esteem and regain a sense of control in their lives. She also guides parents through this challenging time and has helped many families adjust to this difficult life transition. Jan is a trained Child Specialist assisting families in reducing conflict and working towards a healthy resolution for the entire family. Jan believes that people are immensely creative and guides them to use this strength in their efforts towards growth and transformation. Respect and encouragement are foundations of her counselling relationships.
